SAINT LOUIS – Drake, which has already clinched a share of its third straight and ninth overall PFL championship, looks to claim the title outright and the league's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs when it hosts Morehead State on Saturday in Des Moines. Meanwhile, Presbyterian needs a win against Marist and a misstep by Drake to claim a share of its first-ever PFL title and the league's automatic bid. And then there's San Diego which can break a tie with Dayton for most PFL championships (currently both have 12) with a win at Stetson and a Drake loss.
Elsewhere, the Hoosier Helmet Trophy is up for grabs when Valparaiso travels to Butler, with Butler claiming the trophy 13 times in 20 seasons. Dayton travels to Davidson with the Flyers seeking to close the season with a winning PFL mark. St. Thomas closes its 2025 slate with a formidable task as it travels to No. 1 North Dakota State.

PFL Notes
- Here are the simplified scenarios to clinch the PFL's automatic bid. A Drake win and they win the title outright and the league's AQ. A Drake loss and a Presbyterian win sees them both claim a share of the PFL championship but Presbyterian claims the AQ through a common opponent tiebreaker. A Drake loss and a San Diego win (regardless of the Presbyterian result), sees Drake claim the league's AQ, either via its head-to-head win against San Diego or through the common opponent tiebreaker in a three-way tie involving Presbyterian.
- If it's possible to fly under the radar after posting a 15-1 record the past two seasons, Drake had done awfully well in avoiding the spotlight in 2025 before claiming sole possession of the top spot in Week 9. However, Drake has won 24 of its last 26 PFL games, and the Bulldogs are 14-0 on the road and 11-2 at home over their previous 23 PFL games.
- Dayton running back Levi Moell was named the 2025 winner of the 2025 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Merit Award presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). Created in June 2012 the Armed Forces Merit Award honors "an individual and/or a group with a military background and/or involvement that has an impact within the realm of college football."
- Morehead State wide receiver Ryan Upp became the first FCS player with 1,000 receiving yards this season, and enters Week 13 with 1,017 receiving yards – 23 yards behind the FCS leader. He also ranks fifth in receptions per game (6.45) and fourth in receiving yards per game (92.5).
- Valparaiso's Ryan Ricketti became the first FCS kick returner with multiple 100-yard kickoff returns for a touchdown this season, with another 100-yard return against San Diego in Week 11. He is fourth in the FCS with 30.4 yards per kick return.
- Drake's Sean Allison had two interceptions in Week 12 to become the sixth PFL player with multiple interceptions in the same game this season.
- Marist's Chase Hatton was one of 22 student-athletes named to the initial Jerry Rice Award Watch List in October. The Jerry Rice Award, presented by Stats Perform, honors the Football Championship Subdivision's Freshman Player of the Year.
- Following a vote by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors in June, St. Thomas has officially completed the reclassification process, making it an active member of NCAA Division I and eligible to compete in NCAA championships. The Tommies will compete for the PFL automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs for the first time this season.
- There are currently 10 PFL alumni on NFL rosters, with seven on active 53-man rosters and three listed on reserve, injured, or practice rosters. Additionally, PFL alumni were featured on the rosters of the Canadian Football League and the United Football League during their respective 2025 seasons.
