ST. LOUIS, Mo. – San Diego senior running back Adam Criter, Davidson freshman safety Hudson Altenburg, and Dayton redshirt junior kicker Robby Smart are the Pioneer Football League’s Week 4 Players of the Week, presented Sunday.
Criter scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to lead San Diego past Princeton on the road. Altenburg had two first-quarter interceptions, including one in the end zone, to help Davidson post its first shutout win since 2022. Smart’s 21-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter helped Dayton rally for a win at Robert Morris.
Offensive
Adam Criter, San Diego (Senior, Running Back, Downers Grove, Illinois)
Making his first collegiate start, Carter scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help San Diego stun Princeton, 42-35 on Saturday at Princeton Stadium. With San Diego trailing 35-21 entering the fourth quarter, he posted 76 of his 105 rushing yards in the fourth quarter, including touchdown carries of four, 24, and eight yards, respectively. Carter also had 10 receptions for 68 yards in the contest, finishing the day with 173 all-purpose yards on 35 touches.

- Butler quarterback Gabe Passini ran for 175 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and threw for another touchdown in a loss at Weber State.
- Drake quarterback Logan Inagawa completed 15-of-19 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown in his first collegiate start and had two rushing touchdowns in a 19-carry, 76-yard outing in a loss at nationally-ranked South Dakota.
- Morehead State quarterback Carter Cravens completed 18-of-23 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score in a victory against Kentucky Christian.
- Presbyterian running back Zach Switzer ran for two touchdowns and 53 yards on 11 carries in a win against Bluefield.
Defensive
Hudson Altenburg, Davidson (Freshman, Safety, Mount Dora, Florida)
Altenburg, making his first career start at safety, helped Davidson’s defense set an early tone in a 48-0 victory against Greensboro College for the Wildcats’ first win of the season. He recorded two interceptions on back-to-back Greensboro drives and both in Davidson territory. Altenburg’s first interception came on Greensboro’s first drive as they attempted to get into Davidson territory. His second came in the Davidson end zone to thwart a promising Greensboro drive and set up Davidson’s second scoring drive. Altenburg also had four tackles (two solo).

- Butler defensive back Devaon Holma recorded an interception, forced fumble, and led the team with seven tackles (five solo) and a tackle for loss in a loss at Weber State.
- Davidson safety Hudson Altenburg grabbed two interceptions and had four tackles in a 48-0 victory against Greensboro.
- San Diego defensive lineman Jae’Von Reels forced a fumble and had a key tackle on a fourth-down play while leading a defensive effort that held Princeton scoreless for the final 32 minutes, including a six-drive stretch without a first down in a 42-35 victory.
- Valparaiso linebacker Michael Markley had a team-leading 13 tackles (six solo) in a loss at nationally-ranked North Dakota.
Special Teams
Robby Smart, Dayton (Junior (RS), Kicker, North Canton, Ohio)
Smart’s 21-yard field goal with 3:28 left in the game gave Dayton its only lead of the game in a 17-14 victory at Robert Morris on Saturday. He also converted on both PAT kicks to finish with five points in the game.
