CHICAGO – Drake University long snapper Brett Welsing and Davidson College running back Mari Adams were named to the 2025 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team on Tuesday.
Welsing, a senior from De Pere, Wisconsin, was a preseason second-team selection after earning First Team All-PFL honors at long snapper last season. He has played in all 23 games during the past two seasons for the Bulldogs, also earning Second Team All-PFL recognition in 2023.
Adams, a senior from Shelby, North Carolina, is a preseason third-team pick after a First Team All-PFL campaign in 2024 that saw him rank among the FCS leaders in rushing yards (1,231 yards, 13th), rushing yards per game (111.9 ypg, 5th), and rushing touchdowns (15 TDs, 11th). He enters 2025 having rushed for 2,368 yards and 31 touchdowns during his career.
The PFL will announce its 2025 Preseason Poll and Preseason Team on Monday, July 28, and Tuesday, July 29, respectively. The 2025 football season gets underway on Thursday, August 28, with Dayton and Drake taking the field.
