Record-Breaking 806 Student-Athletes Named to Fall 2025 Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll

NASHVILLE – For the first time ever, the Pioneer Football League recognized more than 800 student-athletes from its 11 member institutions on its Academic Honor Roll, with 806 recognized on the Fall 2025 PFL Academic Honor Roll, released on Thursday.

A complete list of all student-athletes named to the honor roll, in alphabetical order by member school, appears below.

Three PFL teams saw 80 student-athletes named to the honor roll. The University of Dayton led all programs with 81 student-athletes recognized on the honor roll, the fourth time the Flyers have had 80 or more honorees in the 25 seasons the honor roll has been presented. Davidson College placed 80 on the honor roll, the third consecutive season the Wildcats have had at least 80 named. The University of St. Thomas set a program record with 80 student-athletes named to the honor roll.

Valparaiso University (79), Butler University (78), and Marist University (78) each saw 70-plus honorees for at least a second consecutive season. The University of San Diego set a program record with 69 honor roll members, while Drake University (68), Morehead State (67), Valparaiso University (67), and Presbyterian College (59) rounded out the honor roll.

The Pioneer Football League athletic director and coaches established the honor roll in 2001 to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. In its 25 seasons, the academic honor roll has recognized over 12,600 student-athletes.

The PFL Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the semester of competition and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.

The Pioneer Football League is the only non-scholarship, football-only NCAA Football Championship Subdivision conference. The PFL is a truly national conference with members on each coast and throughout the nation’s heartland. Butler University, the University of Dayton, Drake University, and Valparaiso University were among the league’s founding members in 1993, with Davidson College, Marist University, Morehead State University, Presbyterian College, the University of San Diego, the University of St. Thomas, and Stetson University joining to form the current 11-team league.
