ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Butler University quarterback Reagan Andrew was joined by Marist University linebacker Nate Furrow and punt returner Jeremy DeCaro as the Pioneer Football League’s Week 6 Players of the Week, as announced Sunday.
Andrew was responsible for all three touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead Butler past St. Thomas. In Marist’s victory against San Diego, Furrow had an FCS-best five tackles for loss (all solo) while DeCaro averaged 12.4 yards on his seven punt returns.
In Week 6 action, Butler and Dayton picked up road victories, improving to 2-0 in PFL play. Nationally-ranked Presbyterian had the week off and is 1-0 in league action. Drake, Marist, and Stetson each won on the road for their first PFL wins this season.
Offense
Reagan Andrew, Butler (Junior (RS), Quarterback, St. Louis, Missouri)
Andrew ran for all three Butler touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, as Butler outlasted St. Thomas, 21-14, in Saturday PFL action. He scored his first two touchdowns in the first half, courtesy a two-yard run in the first frame and a one-yard burst in the second quarter, giving Butler a 14-7 lead at halftime. After a quiet second half, Andrew completed a 12-yard pass on the first play of overtime and then ran the ball on the next four plays, scoring what proved to be the game-winner on a one-yard run. He finished the day with 68 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries while completing 16-of-21 passes for 141 yards. Andrew accounted for 209 of Butler’s 286 offensive yards.

- Davidson wide receiver Ivan Holt scored three touchdowns as part of an eight-reception, 155-yard outing that included two receptions of 50-plus yards in a loss at Stetson.
- Dayton running back Mason Hackett scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:46 left to cap a 22-carry, 92-yard outing in a 35-28 victory at Morehead State.
- Marist quarterback Sonny Mannino was responsible for three touchdowns – completing 22-of-41 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns and running for another in a 19-14 victory against San Diego.
- Stetson quarterback Chris Stephenson led Stetson to its first PFL victory since 2023, a 35-32 win against Davidson, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns, as part of the Hatters’ program-record 384 rushing yards.
Defense
Nate Furrow, Marist (Sophomore (RS), Linebacker, Bel Air, Maryland)
Furrow became the second FCS defender to record five tackles for a loss in a game this season and the first with all five tackles unassisted to help Marist post a 19-14 PFL victory against San Diego. It was the first five-TFL day by a PFL defender since 2023 (Drake’s Finn Claypool). Furrow had three sacks on the day and finished with eight total tackles. He saved his best for last with Marist leading 19-14 and San Diego driving, Furrow recorded back-to-back sacks on 3rd-and-13 on the Marist 39 and 4th-and-19 on the 46-yard line to secure the Red Foxes’ victory. He accounted for 20 yards lost on his five tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

- Butler defensive back picked off a pass in the end zone in overtime to secure Butler’s 21-14 victory at St. Thomas, capping his 10-tackle outing.
- Dayton safety Vincent Firenze had 10 tackles, including two for loss and a sack, two pass breakups and blocked a potential go-ahead field goal in Dayton’s 35-28 victory at Morehead State.
- Stetson defensive back Trey Lockhart posted nine tackles (five solo), a tackle for loss, and forced a fumble in the end zone to stop a potential go-ahead touchdown in a 35-32 victory against Davidson.
- Valparaiso defensive back Nic Lendino recorded 12 tackles (nine solo) and had an interception in a loss at Drake.
Special Teams
Jeremy DeCaro, Marist (Freshman (RS), Punt Returner, Milltown, New Jersey)
DeCaro averaged 12.4 yards on seven punt returns in Marist’s 19-14 PFL victory against San Diego on Saturday. It was the sixth-most punt return yards in an FCS game this season. DeCaro had four returns of 10-plus yards, three of those in the third quarter that gave Marist starting field position between the 40s, and the last of which set up a Marist scoring drive for a 12-7 lead they would not relinquish. He also provided 53 yards on five receptions to finish the day with 140 all-purpose yards.

- San Diego kicker/punter Emiliano Salazar averaged 46.8 yards on 11 punts and had three downed inside the 20-yard line in San Diego’s loss at Marist, he also had five punts of 50-plus yards. He finished with the fourth-most punting yards in the FCS this season in a game that proved to be a pitched battle between punters, with Marist’s Ethan Youks posting an FCS-best 473 punting yards (39.4 ypp).
