SAINT LOUIS – Winners of 22 of its last 23 PFL games, Drake finds itself alone atop the PFL standings heading into Week 10 action and immediately begins taking on challengers to its third-straight championship when it travels to Butler in the 35th meeting of the Bulldogs at the Sellick Bowl.
Elsewhere in the league, Dayton, which downed nationally ranked Presbyterian to put Drake alone in the top spot, heads to the West Coast to meet San Diego, which has won the last six meetings in the series and has not lost to the Flyers at home since the 2010 season (five games at Torero Stadium). Presbyterian will look to stay in the fight for the championship when it hosts Valparaiso, which has won the only two meetings in the series. A red-hot St. Thomas squad, which has scored 50-plus points in three straight PFL games, hosts Marist. Meanwhile, Morehead State looks to extend its back-to-back wins into a winning streak when it hosts Davidson at Phil Simms Stadium.

PFL Notables
	- Presbyterian held on to its national ranking in both polls this week after its loss to Dayton. The Blue Hose are ranked No. 25 in the Stats Perform Media Poll and No. 22 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll entering Week 10. It is the fifth straight week that Presbyterian has been ranked in both polls, the longest such stretch by any PFL team since 2009.

	- If it's possible to fly under the radar after posting a 15-1 record the past two seasons, Drake had done awfully well in avoiding the spotlight in 2025 before claiming sole possession of the top spot in Week 9. However, Drake has won 22 of its last 23 PFL games, and the Bulldogs are 12-0 on the road and 11-1 at home over their previous 23 PFL games.

	- Marist freshman safety Chase Hatton was one of 22 student-athletes named to the initial Jerry Rice Award Watch List on Wednesday. The Jerry Rice Award, presented by Stats Perform, honors the Football Championship Subdivision's Freshman Player of the Year.

	- The PFL notched its seventh and eighth wins against nonconference FCS opposition in 2025 as San Diego stunned Princeton and Dayton toppled Robert Morris on the road during Week 4. The eight wins are the league's most since 2009. The league record for most wins against FCS teams in a season since 2000 is 10, set during the 2001 season. One nonconference game remains in the regular season: St. Thomas faces North Dakota State in the season's final week.

	- Presbyterian's victory against nationally-ranked Mercer in Week 1 was the PFL's first win against a ranked FCS opponent since 2018, when Butler defeated Youngstown State to begin the season. San Diego's victory against Southern Utah in Week 1 was the league's second against a Top 25 FCS foe. It is the first time the league has two wins against nationally-ranked opponents in the same season.

	- Following a vote by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors in June, St. Thomas has officially completed the reclassification process, making it an active member of NCAA Division I and eligible to compete in NCAA championships. The Tommies will compete for the PFL automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs for the first time this season.

	- Davidson senior running back Mari Adams and Drake senior linebacker Sean Allison are the PFL's representatives on the 2025 Walter Payton and Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch Lists, respectively. Drake senior long snapper Brett Welsing joined Adams on the 2025 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Teams.

	- There are currently 10 PFL alumni on NFL rosters, with seven on active 53-man rosters and three listed on reserve, injured, or practice rosters. Additionally, PFL alumni were featured on the rosters of the Canadian Football League and the United Football League during their respective 2025 seasons.
