POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Columbia scored 20 unanswered fourth-quarter points to defeat Marist 41-28 Friday night at Tenney Stadium, overcoming a seven-point deficit after the Red Foxes had rallied from an early special-teams touchdown and a halftime deficit.

Marist drove 78 yards on its opening possession before Jonah Walker blocked a 25-yard field goal attempt and Carter McCray returned it 85 yards for Columbia's first touchdown. The Red Foxes answered in the second quarter when Sonny Mannino found Jayden Taylor for a 15-yard touchdown and Jeremy Decaro scored on a 16-yard run. Columbia tied the game on Chase Goodwin's 38-yard touchdown pass to Beckett Robinson, then took a 21-14 halftime lead when AJ George returned a Mannino fumble 44 yards for a touchdown.

Mannino connected with Zach Garmont for a 55-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, then scored on a 1-yard fourth-down run to give Marist a 28-21 lead. Griffin Johnson's 1-yard run cut the deficit to one before Julius Patton recovered a Mannino fumble, setting up Goodwin's 19-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Hutch Crow. A holding penalty in Marist's end zone produced a safety, and Goodwin's 13-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Coleman completed the scoring.
