In a rare Friday outing in the Pioneer Football League this week, Marist defeated Northeast Conference member New Haven, giving the league its second victory against FCS opposition in the season's first two days.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Sonny Mannino was responsible for two touchdowns as Marist used a 17-point first quarter to power past New Haven, 31-14, on Friday night at Tenney Stadium. Tristian Shannon scored the game's first touchdown on a 59-yard dash midway through the first quarter. Mannino tacked on his first touchdown courtesy a 17-yard pass to Connor Hulstien with 38 seconds left in the opening stanza to give Marist a 17-0 lead. New Haven scored in the second quarter to close back within 10 points, but Mannino pushed the Red Foxes lead back to 17 points with his four-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. Marist capped the night when Rene Barber picked up a muffed punt at the one-yard line and found the end zone for a final touchdown. Mannino ran for 109 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and was 11-of-20 passing for 75 yards. Shannon ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
