INDIANAPOLIS – Three different Drake players scored touchdowns in a 24-19 PFL victory against Butler at the Sellick Bowl. Nick Herman put Drake on the scoreboard first with a 66-yard touchdown burst on the game’s first play from scrimmage. In the second quarter, Logan Inagawa broke a tie with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Voth, giving Drake a 14-7 lead that it took into halftime. Butler appeared to tie the game on Reagan Andrews’ second touchdown pass, but Drake blocked the PAT to preserve its lead. Drake pushed its lead to four points on Harry Balke’s 51-yard field goal on the ensuing drive. Drake extended its lead to 11 points early in the fourth quarter with Luke Woodson’s one-yard run. Andrew would run for a touchdown on the next drive, setting the final score. Butler’s defense would force a three-and-out on Drake’s next possession, but the punt was muffed and recovered by Drake to seal the win. Inagawa completed 18-of-23 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown. Andrew was responsible for all three touchdowns, completed 14-of-21 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for a score as part of a 13-carry, 43-yard outing.
Morehead State def. Davidson, 28-24
MOREHEAD, Ky. – No stranger to close games, Morehead State scored the final 14 points to push past Davidson for a 28-24 PFL victory at Phil Simms Stadium. Davidson pushed its halftime lead to 11 points on W. Jones’ two-yard touchdown run with 14:11 remaining in the fourth quarter. Morehead State closed within three points as G. Davis III ran for a touchdown and J. Lanier ran for the two-point conversion. Morehead State quickly got the ball back with an interception, but could not convert the possession into points as Davidson blocked a 30-yard field goal attempt. Morehead State’s defense picked up where it left off, forcing Davidson into another three-and-out. The Eagles offense then drove 77 yards in eight plays with Carter Cravens connecting with Bronson England for a four-yard touchdown to take a 28-24 lead with 1:06 remaining. Cravens completed 21-of-35 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown, finding Ryan Upp eight times for 169 yards. Davidson scored two touchdowns on the ground as part of a 43-carry, 235-yard effort by four runners.

CLINTON, S.C. – Collin Hurst passed for two touchdowns and caught another as Presbyterian bounced back from its season’s first loss with a 43-14 PFL victory against Valparaiso at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Presbyterian scored the game’s first 30 points, building a 30-0 lead on Hurst’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Dominic Kibby with 4:14 left in the third quarter. Hurst also had a first-quarter 17-yard touchdown pass to Kibby and caught a 12-yard pass from Ty Englehart late in the second quarter. Valparaiso broke through just before the end of the third quarter as Rowan Keefe found Jay Melchiori on a 38-yard touchdown pass, but could not close the gap further. Hurst completed 26-of-32 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns, both to Kibby, who had five receptions for 57 yards. Keefe completed 17-of-26 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown.
St. Thomas def. Marist, 45-0
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Andy Peters threw for two touchdowns and ran for three as St. Thomas powered past Marist, 45-0, at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. Peters, who threw or ran for the Tommies' first five touchdowns, completed 14-of-19 passes for 248 yards and ran 13 times for 28 yards. St. Thomas’ defense accounted for five takeaways, with three interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Marist’s Will O’Dell completed 14-of-24 passes for 101 yards

SAN DIEGO – San Diego scored the game’s first 28 points in a 31-14 PFL victory against Dayton at Torero Stadium. While the Torero offense was building its lead, the defense kept the Flyers in check for the first three quarters. Matt Colombo ran for a five-yard touchdown and Dom Nankil passed for a 40-yard touchdown in the second quarter, giving San Diego a 14-0 halftime lead. Nankil capped the second half’s opening drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass before Adam Criter ran for a six-yard touchdown to build the 28-0 lead early in the fourth quarter. Dayton broke through with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes by Drew VanVleet. Nankil completed 16-of-23 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. VanVleet completed 18-of-30 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
