Offensive Player of the Week
Steve Valentino (DAY)
Valentino recovered from a Week 10 loss to toss a pair of touchdowns in Dayton’s 23-6 PFL victory at Drake, Saturday. He completed 16-of-29 passes for 223 yards and the two touchdowns. Valentino also threw no interceptions for an offense that has been turnover-plagued in the red zone this season. His first touchdown – a 30-yard strike to Justin Watkins – opened the game’s scoring. Valentino’s second TD strike was a 36-yard pass to Luke Bellman in the third quarter. He also carried the ball a team-high 16 times for 26 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brandon Chandler (CAM)
Chandler picked off a pair of passes, including one ticketed for a touchdown, as Campbell won its first-ever PFL road contest, 17-3, Saturday, at Valparaiso. His first interception came in the end zone and stopped a potential Crusaders scoring drive after the Camels had just taken a 10-0 lead. Chandler’s second interception came on the first play of Valparaiso’s final possession and he returned it 17 yards. He also recorded three solo tackles.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Kyle Negrete (SAN)
Negrete averaged a PFL single-game best 49.3 yards per punt to help San Diego win a 13-7 contest at Morehead State, Saturday. He punted six times for 296 yards, saw one downed inside the 20-yard line and booted one 65 yards. It was the sixth-best punting average by a FCS punter with six or more punts in a contest this season.
