Offensive Player of the Week
Josh Philpart (JAC)
Philpart caught a pair of touchdown passes as Jacksonville posted a 39-0 PFL victory against Morehead State, Saturday. He finished the day with six catches for 192 yard and is ranked among the FCS’s top-20 single-game performances by yardage. Philpart opened the day’s scoring with a 29-yard touchdown reception. He then closed the scoring with a 34-yard touchdown score in the third quarter. It is his second outing of 190 or more yards this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Joe Ries (DAY)
Ries was everywhere as part of a Dayton defense that pieced together a shutout in a 17-0 PFL victory against Davidson, Saturday. He had eight tackles (four solo), including a tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Ries also had a pair of interceptions, which he returned for 62 yards, and added a pass breakup. He led a Flyer defense that held Davidson’s offense below its season average with just 228 yards.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Brandon Wubs (DRA)
Wubs wins his second straight weekly honor with his punting performance in Drake’s 21-14 PFL victory at San Diego, Saturday. He punted eight times for 328 yards or 41.0 yards per punt, including a 56-yard punt. Wubs had three punts downed inside the 20-yard line and one touchback. Wubs also made all three of his extra-point tries and averaged 56.0 yards on four kickoffs.
