Offensive Player of the Week
Josh McGregor (JAC)
McGregor was responsible for three touchdowns as Jacksonville opened its PFL championship defense with a 27-21 victory against Davidson, Saturday. He completed 18-of-28 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns. However, it was McGregor’s 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that provided the winning margin. He led scoring drives of 81, 71, 91 and 63 yards during the day.
Defensive Player of the Week
Nikko Carson (VAL)
Carson tied a PFL record with four sacks in Valparaiso’s 34-14 loss at Drake, Saturday. He finished the day with eight tackles (all solo) and led a Crusaders defense which recorded seven sacks for 36 yards. His four sacks are the most by a FCS player this season.
Special Teams Player of the Week
David Lang (BUT)
Lang atoned for a pair of PAT misses with a 39-yard field goal with one second remaining as Butler downed San Diego, 25-24, for the first time since 2001. He opened Butler’s scoring by kicking a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter. He missed extra-point attempts on the Bulldogs first two touchdowns, but recovered to record an extra-point on their final touchdown drive, setting up the eventual game-winning opportunity.
