Offensive Player of the Week
Andrew Huck (BUT)
Huck completed 33-of-48 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns to lead Butler in a 49-19 victory at Franklin, Saturday. He also carried the ball nine times for 35 yards and a touchdown – a five-yard dash four seconds into the fourth quarter that ended his day. It was the second straight week he threw for more than 300 yards, tossed four or more touchdowns and also rushed for a score. His 33 completions are the fourth most in FCS this young season and his 48 attempts are the seven most in the subdivision this year. Huck has 643 passing yards in the season’s first two weeks.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cale Hunt (DRA)
Hunt led a Drake defensive effort that held Marist’s running attack in check en route to a 34-6 PFL victory, Saturday. He posted a team-best 10 tackles, including one of the Bulldogs seven quarterback sacks as they held Marist to 38 rushing yards on 36 attempts. Hunt also intercepted a pass in Marist territory that set up Drake’s final touchdown drive.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Logan Chipperfield (JAC)
Chipperfield was called on to punt 11 times in Jacksonville’s 27-0 loss at Samford and delivered each time, amassing 468 punting yards. Both his punt total and yardage count are the most in the FCS this season. The Dolphins had 15 possessions in the contest, Chipperfield ending the possession 11 times. In addition Samford was unable to do anything with his punts, returning three punts for two total yards and fair catching four others. Jacksonville’s special teams downed three punts and another floated into the end zone for a touchback. Chipperfield had two punts over 50 yards and had two downed inside the 20-yard line.
